Bringing Practical, Accessible Housing to Toombs County
In 2024, DHE Contractors began work on the Collins Subdivision in Vidalia, GA—the first new subdivision project in Toombs County in over ten years. The need for accessible housing in our community is clearer than ever. According to the 2024 Toombs County Housing Report, housing growth has been stagnant at just 1% over the last decade, and rental occupancy rates have reached an astounding 97%. More than 7,000 people commute into Toombs County daily for work, underscoring the urgent need for increased housing availability.
Our Collins Estates Subdivision Project directly addresses this problem by providing practical and accessible homes—exactly the type of housing nearly 90% of residents support. We're proud to be partnering with Collins Mobile Homes to help deliver these housing solutions effectively.
Currently, our team is completing Phase 1, focused on building durable and safe roadways. This includes clearing paths, precision grading with GPS-guided equipment, compacting bases, and laying rock foundations—all done to rigorous GDOT standards. With paving soon to follow as we enter Phase 2, we’re excited to deliver critical infrastructure that supports sustainable community growth.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue bringing affordable and quality housing solutions to working class families in Toombs County.
