Over time, paved surfaces undergo stress from top to bottom, by bearing weight under use and from exposure to natural conditions, whether geological, or meteorological. While there isn't anything we can to do prevent these stresses, we can help to mitigate the damage they cause that destroys the life of your pavement investment. Sealing cracks on roadways is something commonly done to prevent large and small existing cracks from spreading further. Additionally, full coverage sealant is often applied in more thin layers across the entire surface of the asphalt pavement to prevent the top layer of exposed asphalt from weathering further. Additionally, this layer also helps to hold materials in place in that top layer which would deteriorate under use overtime.
